Parents Advocating Student Success, Inc. announces its $90,000 fundraising campaign to raise money and awareness for the Core Knowledge® Charter School (CKCS) Endowment. To support PASS in reaching its goal, Madison Community Foundation (MCF) has awarded a 2-to-1 challenge grant of $30,000.

PASS was founded in 1995 by a group of Verona Area School District (VASD) parents.  PASS was formed to represent the CKCS mission, vision and maintain the contract and relationship with VASD.  The goal of PASS is to support and sustain schools that use evidence-based curriculum and teaching methods.

PASS partners with the CKCS administration, VASD, and all CKCS parent leadership teams, to assure the school and student needs are met in the current year and in the future.

Rick Kisting, the CKCS principal said, "I am very excited for the opportunity for Core Knowledge Charter School to partner with Madison Community Foundation.  The creation of this endowment is an investment in our children for years to come. It will provide continued resources to support our district's mission that every student must be successful."

“Investing in schools, particularly in those that foster innovation, is a key mission for the Madison Community Foundation,” said Tom Linfield, Vice President of Community Impact, at Madison Community Foundation.  “This project seeks to build the capacity and sustainability of an organization committed to excellence in teaching and learning. The permanent endowment will serve Verona’s students for generations to come.”

PASS was in final preparations to launch a $60,000 endowment fundraising campaign in 2019, when we received the 2-to-1 matching grant from MCF for up $30,000.  Simply put, for every $1,000 we raise, MCF will add $500.

The success of this campaign will achieve the following results.  Donor and PASS event sponsor dollars will go further. Every contribution up to the $60,000 goal will receive a 2:1 match from MCF.  $90,000 will be added to the PASS for CKCS Endowment fund held at Madison Community Foundation. An annual distribution to CKCS will cover a large portion of our annual fundraising needs for program operating costs. The amount distributed will growing annually, becoming a sustainable income for the school to use for programming costs and enhancements

With over $25,000 already raised, we are excited to get the campaign started.  Meeting our goal and provide the school an annual income to cover program costs, support teacher and student classroom needs and implement complementary and innovative curriculum. You can in one of the following ways:
