Governing Council is the decision-making body responsible for the day to day operations of CKCS in accordance with the Verona Area School District (VASD) Core Knowledge® Charter.
Functions of Governing Council include, but are not limited to:
- Goals and future of CKCS
- Budget allocations
- Capital expenditures
- Personnel
- Curriculum
- Assessments
- CKCS policies and procedures
- Direct committee responsibilities
Parent participation is welcomed and needed! Parents are able and encouraged to serve on school committees making recommendations to Governing Council without being a member of the Council. If interested in learning more about committee opportunities please visit VACKCS.com.
Governing Council consists of two non-voting community representatives, and eight voting council members. Voting members are:
- Five members will be parents of children in school
- CKCS Director
- CKCS teacher representative
- Badger Ridge Middle School representative
